For over 35 years, I've been addressing physical, data, and reputational risk, but especially in the last several years.
This whole realm of reputational risk has become more and more of an issue, as we have all seen the stories in our media and social media where people do things online or off the clock that come back and negatively reflect upon them online and on the clock.
When it comes to other things that can wreck people's reputations, yes, there are some things fiscally, there are things that people can literally do immorally or criminally that can affect their reputation.
But the other thing is, obviously when you're out and about, you have to now absolutely be conscious of the roving reporters that are out there.
I'm not talking about the ones that work for your local news affiliates or newspapers. I'm talking about everybody who has a phone in their pockets or their hands.
So another point of reputation management that we have to take into account is what you do or what you are found online related to when someone has pulled out their phone and snapped a picture or taken a video.
They can impact you as an individual, but also the companies that either you own or you work for.
And it's so needless when all it calls for is simple discernment and restraint.
