John Lymberopoulos - What It Means to be a Gentleman
I'm often asked the question "What does a gentleman mean to me?" I define a gentleman in a little bit different way. Yes, it's about chivalry, yes, it's about standing up when people come to the table to greet them, but it goes beyond that.
A gentleman includes style, etiquette, manners, really being authentic and having a real, honest approach to business and to life.
It's something that is not necessarily innate. It's something that needs to be trained, and I think it's something that we've lost as gentlemen as a whole and we've got to get back to that.
So really, being a gentleman is all of those things. But most importantly, I believe that being a gentleman is real and sometimes real is difficult for people to take, but hang in there.
Create that art of being a gentleman, practice your manners, practice your etiquette, practice your style, practice kindness, and most of all, practice service to others. That's the true definition of being a gentleman.
